Travel Journal

I am been looking for new jobs recently. I have just placed my resignation to Businelle last month. So last Friday was my last day. Starting tomorrow, I will be working part time. I am relieved. Still a lot of work to do for Businelle though (TPBS, GDI, Accumulators, documenting, etc.) And I will be spending my free time looking for another job in Dallas.

MacArthur Recruiting has been helping me so far with the job hunt. They got me an interview with Metrosplash (formerly of Matchmaker.com fame), and I hope to get an interview with McKesson Pharmaceuticals soon as well.

This Labor Day weekend, honey and I went to MD Resort for a getaway. It was a nice weekend, full of horseback riding, picnic on the greens, and romantic in-room dinner. We also enjoyed a movie night with Alex and Emma, Ponette, and SeaBiscuit. So now we are back home and trying to start the work week again.

So then the question is, why I am I blogging after so many months of nothing? Well, I got a new phone. We went to the mall today, and we finally decided to upgrade our T Mobile contract. We signed up for two more years, and got new phones. Honey got a Nokia 6103, and I got a Razr V3. There are doubts about the durability of my Razr, but I am willing to take a chance on it. I like it because it is so slim, and it would work well with my slim PDA later. More importantly that the new phones, we got new phone numbers. No more Galveston area code – we now have Dallas numbers.

So with my new phone, I have a camera and bluetooth support. I read an idea a while back (maybe with Microsoft) about a camera you would wear as a necklace, and it would record your whole day. Then you can download to your terrabyte hard drive so you can record your whole life on a computer. Well, this isn’t quite the same, but the concept is. There is also a feature on blogger.com I think, where you can send pictures from your phone, and it will automatically create a blog for it.

So the idea is for me to take random photos throughout the day or week. Take photos of events, ideas, places, people, etc to chronicle my days. Then I will upload them every night or few nights. They may not all be public as I may post a few as private. But hopefully the collection will build, and I’ll have a decent chronicle of the sights and sceneries of my daily life. It has always been hard to sit down and write about how my day went. Now I can just paste a picture and give a brief description, since a picture is worth a thousand words. And if it wasn’t worth taking a picture of, then it’s not worth blogging about.

At the mall while the women were shopping, I had to get some reading materials to pass the time. The magazine on the right is a Playstation magazine (PSM) with Final Fantasy XII on the cover, in case you are wondering.
