Ghosts

I rented Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, and The Grudge this week.

Ghost in the Shell 2 was BEAUTIFUL. And it was awesome. It had some very nice dialogue, and deep philosophical type stuff. It can be confusing at time. The colors, animations, and CGI are top notch. And as usual, the eye of Japanese cinematography is at its best. I may buy this DVD soon.

And the opposite of that was The Grudge. I think I have just wasted two hours of my life. Luckily, I wasn’t doing nuttin while wasting time watching the movie. Actually, the movie wasn’t too bad, but the lack of resolution just made the movie pointless. You suddenly realize in the end that the movie had no plot.

I know some people will try to defend this movie and say the point of the movie was just to be scary, and not necessarily have plot/character development. And for a movie to wrap everything nicely in the end is so cliche. Well, for people, I am glad they liked it. Ok, I suppose the movie is a good movie for what it is…which is a plotless concatenation of somewhat-impressive scary scenes.
